Here at The Yorkshireman, Yorkshire’s premier guide to all things Yorkshire, there is one thing that we bloody love and it’s a food challenge. So, when we got wind of the giant fish & chip challenge from one of Yorkshire’s top fish & chip chains, it’s fair to say we were very excited.
The Big Papa challenge is located at Papa’s Fish and Chips which is scattered across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. The challenge is only available at the Papa’s Fish & Chip Challenge is only available at Papa’s Fish & Chip Restaurant – and not just the fish & chip shops.

What awaits you is a simply exquisite haddock that’s around two feet long and garnished with lemon slices. Along with the fish you also have a mountain of chips to make your way through as well.

One of the saving graces of the challenge is that there isn’t a time limit, so you can either scoff your face off before your stomach realises it’s full, or take the tortoise and the hare approach and take it steady.
If you manage to clear your plate you’ll be given a free ‘I’m the Papa’ t-shirt from Papa’s Fish and Chips. Once you’ve completed the challenge staff recommend a brew to help cleanse the pallet and we aren’t gunna say no to that.
If you fancy taking on a memorable experience, the Big Papa challenge will set you back £17.99. Visit the website to find out more here.
