Fried chicken fans get excited! Chicken fans of South Yorkshire are in for a treat as the popular chain Wingstop UK prepares to open its very first Sheffield restaurant at Meadowhall later this year.
The US-born chain, known for its bold flavours and freshly cooked wings, has built a cult following since launching in the UK in 2018. Wingstop enthusiasts across Yorkshire have long been calling for a local branch, regularly taking to social media to push for a South Yorkshire opening.

Located in the Oasis Dining Quarter on the lower level, the new restaurant will serve up a full menu of classic wings, tenders and burgers, as well as seasoned fries, dips, milkshakes, Camden Town beer and freestyle soft drinks. Sweet-toothed diners can also round off their meal with churros.
Wingstop’s menu is built around flavour, with ten distinctive choices ranging from tangy Lemon Pepper and fiery Mango Habanero to smoky BBQ. Each order is cooked fresh, hand-sauced and tossed to perfection.
Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: “We’re always looking to bring new and exciting dining experiences to Meadowhall, and Wingstop UK is a perfect fit. Their energy, distinctive flavours and loyal following make them a fantastic addition to our already diverse mix of dining options. We’re delighted they’ve chosen Meadowhall for their first Sheffield location and we’re sure our visitors from across Yorkshire and beyond will love getting stuck in.”
Dirujan Sabesan, Chief Marketing Officer at Wingstop UK, added: “The wait is finally over. Our fans in Sheffield have been calling for Wingstop UK to open, and we’re so happy to finally make it happen. Meadowhall is the perfect place for us to make our debut, and we can’t wait to bring our bold flavours and signature wings to a new audience.”
The Meadowhall branch will be Wingstop’s first in South Yorkshire, joining a network of 69 restaurants across the UK. It will sit alongside more than 50 other eateries at Meadowhall, including Five Guys, Jollibee and YO!, making the centre an even bigger destination for food lovers.
