A new kebab takeaway has opened up in Leeds city centre selling fresh gourmet kebabs like nothing you’ve ever tasted. Starting in BrewDog earlier this year as a pop-up, Sqew in Leeds has now taken up residence on Duncan Street and is serving up pitas stuffed with chicken, lamb and falafel that won’t disappoint.
They may be the newbies on the scene, but these guys know what they’re doing. They opened at the end of October and have been received well by their customers.
The owner also founded the popular Red’s True Barbecue, so you know it’s going to taste good. Expectations were already high, and Sqew Leeds has pulled out the goods with its ‘upmarket doner’ kebabs which serves up staples like shish and shawarma along with vegetarian options.
The Chicken shwarma khobex wrap with a halloumi upgrade comes with lettuce, tomato, pickled cabbage, garlic sauce, and hot sauce – which really hits the spot. It’s the perfect place to stop in for lunch or after a few pints at your favourite city centre boozer.
TripAdvisor reviewers seem to agree with one person writing: “Got to say definitely the best kebabs inLeedss. I had a chicken shawarma the Mrs had a Donna wrap was absolutely bang on fresh food great service.”
Another wrote that “Sqew is great, you get the feel that it is more authentic than the other kebab shops, they have managed to get a modern feel to the menu without that “chaniy” feeling.”
Leaving a review on their Facebook page, one person wrote: “So. Good 10/10 highly recommend.” With all these good things we are hearing, you’d be a fool not to give them a try.
