As winter rolls in, there really is only one thing on my mind (well, two if you count the central heating costs) – and no, it’s not Christmas. It’s the dreamy idea of escaping to a gorgeous spa, chilling in a robe for a bit, and turning off my phone for a change. Enter, Yorkshire Spa Retreat – a gorgeous spa near Helmsley that has all that to offer and more. The more being their brand new restaurant, The Dome, which is set to open very soon.
An 80-cover restaurant housed within two alpine-like “domes”, The Dome is set to be a gorgeous space where guests can dine after a day at the spa, or simply enjoy the restaurant at their own leisure.
Providing scenic views across the park’s natural swim pond and landscaped gardens, guests will be immersed in the tranquil environment, which will perfectly complement the spa’s relaxing vibe and ethos. From casual drinks to Sunday roasts and special dinners, The Dome will offer it all.
At the helm is chef Stefan Rares-Burducea, a talented Michelin-trained chef who resides in Yorkshire, and has created a relaxing dining experience inspired by God’s Own Country that he believes guests will love.
Stefan explained: “The Dome’s menu is a true tribute to Yorkshire. I wanted to explore the ingredients that the county is known for, and create food that celebrates the area.
“Myself and the team have worked hard to devise a menu that will really impress our guests but also appeal to a diverse audience. I want to see groups of friends enjoying the space with a bottle of wine, walkers tucking into cream teas and families sitting down to enjoy a Sunday roast.”
Just a short drive away from North York Moors highlights such as Castle Howard, Rievaulx Abbey and Helmsley itself, The Dome is expected to be a hit with walkers and holidaymakers alike, and has also announced that it’ll be hosting a festive menu this December that guests can enjoy.
