We’ve had over a week of sun, so we are calling that summer is in full swing now, which means we can actually plans some family activities. And, a wholesome summer activity you need to add to your list is spending an afternoon picking wildflowers in the idyllic fields at The Flower Belt in Helmsley, North York Moors. If you’re looking for things to do, this is a wonderful place to spend a few hours over the holidays.
With 32 different varieties of wildflowers to pick from, as well as a large sunflower field, you can spend hours creating your perfect selection of flowers to take home.
Choose a jar or vase to fill with as many flowers as you can. You’re given a pair of scissors and left to select which flowers you want to fill up your jars with, then get them wrapped nicely to take home.
They say it’s the ultimate mindful experience – with wellness being a hot topic of 2020. The views that you’re surrounded by really help heighten that mindful experience.
It’s a dog-friendly spot, so you can even take your dog for a trip out as well. There’s also a cafe on site where they serve fresh coffee, and maybe you can even enjoy a little treat. You can potter around, or just chill out and enjoy the magnificent views whilst being in nature. You’ll leaving feeling zen, with some lovely wildflowers to add a pop of colour to your house.
