According to a source, the 95-year old Queen’s favourite festive film is Flash Gordon.

Her Royal Highness sits down every year to watch the 1980’s sci-fi adventure film which stars Sam Jones and Brian Blessed is about football player Flash and his friends who travel to the planet Mongo and find themselves fighting against Ming the Merciless to save Earth.
Star of the film Brian Blessed, a good ol’ Yorkshireman, starred in the film as Prince Vultan, and when speaking with Yahoo Movies divulged the information.

Speaking a few years ago in an interview with Yahoo Movies, Blessed revealed the Queens Favourite Christmas Filmsaid: “The Queen, it’s her favourite film, she watches it with her grandchildren every Christmas.”
He added, impersonating the Queen, saying: “You know, we watch Flash Gordon all the time, me and the grandchildren. And if you don’t mind, I’ve got the grandchildren here, would you mind saying ‘Gordon’s alive’?”
