There’s that crisp, fresh feeling in the air, and I’m not gonna lie, after a pretty erratic summer, I’m pretty happy to say that. Goodbye muggy air and constant disappointment, and hello predictable, comforting winter – AKA, cosy pub season. If you, like me, are planning on hot-footing it straight to the pub to hibernate this season, then you’ll want to bookmark our guide to some of the best pretty pubs in Yorkshire.

Trust me when I say, you’ll want to tick them all off your list.

It’s the time of year when dark mornings are in full swing and the frost on the cars becomes a mild annoyance. It’s easy to hibernate indoors and wait out the first signs of spring, but here at The Yorkshireman we love our winter days and have come up with some of the best Yorkshire winter walks to enjoy.

So dust off the old scarf and pull on your wellies, as it is time to get out into the frosty air and enjoy the unique landscapes that the winter days create. We are sure your body and mental health will thank you.

3. Catch the last of the pantos across the county

It may be January, but if you fancy carrying on that festive feeling, there are still some pantos taking place across the county this month, including the Whitby Apollo’s Hansel and Gretel, and The Alhambra Theatre in Bradford has a popular Cinderella show. As far as the best things to do in January in Yorkshire are concerned – keeping the bit of fun and joy that panto brings is essential in our eyes.
