The Piece Hall Christmas Markets are back! Halifax’s famous Piece Hall has announced that it will host six weekends of festive markets this year. So, grab a mulled wine and get ready for twinkling lights and festive fun. Built in 1779 to trade handwoven cloth, The Piece Hall reopened after a £19 million restoration in 2017 and remains a top Halifax attraction.
The West Yorkshire landmark has enjoyed a summer of fantastic live music at its open-air concerts and is ready for more, with the announcement of the dates for its festive markets. These will run from 13 November to 20 December.
More than 50 stalls took over the iconic outdoor venue last year, offering a carefully curated selection of independent food and drink producers alongside skilled artisans selling unique, handcrafted goods.
This festive season, you can search out the perfect gift from the many independent stalls on offer or enjoy the seasonal food and drink to get you in the festive spirit. The Piece Hall Christmas Markets are always a beautiful spot to visit, offering a memorable experience for everyone.
This year, 50 traders will fill the courtyard with a curated selection of Yorkshire-focused goods and produce, including artisan spirits, baked goods, clothing, jewellery, homeware, and bath and body products.
Nicky Chance-Thompson MBE DL, chief executive of The Piece Hall Trust, says: “Our Christmas markets are our festive showpiece, with people travelling from all over the UK to visit, including coach trips from Scotland. The team work so hard to create a magical atmosphere, with local performers and a brilliant selection of local producers and makers.
“Add to that our treasure trove of permanent, high-quality independent shops and boutiques, and there really is an unrivalled selection of gifts for the big day, so you can get Christmas all wrapped up at The Piece Hall.”
