Grantley Hall is one of Yorkshire’s newest luxury hotels opening back in July 2019. And now, the stunning hotel has been named as the Best Countryside Hotel in the UK in Condé Nast coveted Johansens Awards for Excellence 2023.
The North Yorkshire resort has managed to earn itself a Michelin Star for its 10-course tasting menu at Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall restaurant and is also home to one of the most luxurious spa experiences you’ll experience. It’s up there with one of the best in the world – having been award the accolade of second best hotel in the world back in 2019.
The travel website’s Johansens Awards for Excellence 2023 aim to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across a range of categories in the industry. And, they noted that Grantley Hall was the top country hotel for 2023, which will come as no surprise to anyone that has ever had the luxury to visit.
The world-renowned Awards for Excellence are a trusted mark of quality recognised by consumers and travel professionals alike.
Highlighting elements that made Grantley, the 17th-century, Grade II* listed manor house what it is they noted its ‘immaculate Palladian facade’ and its ‘modern interpretation of classic interior design that encourages you to sit, slumber and slow down.’
With the Yorkshire Dales as a backdrop, the travel magazine noted it had all the ‘hallmarks’ of a romantic yarn of yore. A grand mansion, landscaped grounds, meandering river – it doesn’t get more country stay than this.
Not only does it have 47 rooms and suites with large comfy beds, four-piece bathroom suites dressed in marble, and revived historical features such as feature fireplaces. Most offer amazing views of the grounds.
Conde Nast highlighted the Japanese garden for cocktails and the pan-Asian Bar & Restaurant EightyEight for a meal. Or maybe Norton Bar or Valeria’s late-night Champagne and cocktail bar.
