The Maldives, Bali, Fiji, YORKSHIRE… Who’d have known our little piece of heaven would become such a sought after destination? For the first time ever, Yorkshire has landed itself on the World’s Best New Luxury Hotels list, being crowned the second best hotel in the whole world.

Opening just 6 months ago back in July, Grantley Hall has landed one of the top spots of the list collated by Luxury Travel Intelligence (LIT), beaten only by luxury resort The Nautilus in the Maldives… Which can be forgiven, because, well, it’s the Maldives.

Set in picturesque Ripon along the River Skell, the 47 room 1600’s mansion screams luxury with a capital L – featuring grand rooms with a stately home feel to make you feel like a royal, as well as a highly commended spa.

Speaking of Grantley Hall’s inclusion on the list, LIT said:

“While the world’s most respected luxury hotel brands continue to bring us amazing new properties every year, it is individual passion projects such as Grantley Hall that invariably capture our interest (and hearts).

“What we anticipated to be a routine visit to yet another new UK country house hotel, turned out to be a total revelation.

“We could go on forever about all the wonderful things we found, but you should go and discover this exceptional property for yourself. You will not be disappointed.”

You can’t argue with how much the stately mansion has to offer visitors, with guests being greeted by a meandering river and parkland setting, as well as amenities such as their lavish spa, a fine-dining restaurant run by a Michelin star chef, and an exclusive, lush bar on site.

Room prices start at £325 – with a range of options available for visitors to choose from, from their spacious deluxe rooms featuring Italian marble bathrooms, to their incredible 128 square metre Presidential Suite which features a grand piano and boasts some of the best views in the house.
