Yorkshire is full of decent boozers. From classic country inns to the oldest pubs in Yorkshire, they are all full of characters with a great pint or two. And, one pub in Yorkshire was named number one in the region at the National Pub and Bar Awards 2023.
The Fat Badger in Harrogate was given the title of best in the region at the awards, which took place on Wednesday evening in London.

The annual event aims to celebrate some of the UK’s best boozers and recognises the best in each county across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The Fat Badger has just that. One of the most loved pubs in the area, The Fat Badger is home to an array of lovely outdoor dining domes, which are illuminated by night for a wonderful al fresco experience.
Earlier in the year, The Fat Badger, along with three other pubs was shortlisted for the award and now they are enjoying taking home the gold for the region’s best pub.
The Fat Badger team took to social media to celebrate the news posting: “We are the best pub in Yorkshire. So proud to be announced as the pub and bar of the year in The Yorkshire and Humber.”

Discussing the awards, Tristan O’Hana, editor of Pub & Bar said: “Pubs and bars across the country are still facing serious challenges, so we want to help increase footfall and awareness of these fantastic businesses through the awards, lifting spirits and sales along the way.”
