We obviously know how to do a curry right in Yorkshire. Whether you’re visiting Bradford for the ‘capital of curries’ or one of the many curry houses in the towns and cities that make up God’s Own Country. So, it’s no surprise that lots of love was given to many of Yorkshire’s curry houses as this year’s English Curry Awards (2026)
The awards named Kiplings Restaurant in Sowerby Bridge as the top spot in Yorkshire, taking the title of Restaurant of the Year for the county at this year’s awards.
The awards, which celebrate the very best of England’s curry industry, recognised restaurants, chefs, and takeaways across the region at the 15th Annual English Curry Awards 2026. The awards took place at Grand Station, Wolverhampton on 10th August, bringing together some of the industry’s best for an evening of celebration.
The Kipling Restaurant took the top spot for Yorkshire on the night and is named after Rudyard Kipling, an English gentleman living in India. The restaurant serves up authentic Kashmiri cuisine with a modern twist.
