This Yorkshire Seaside Town Named One Of Best Places To Visit In England

We all know it as one of Yorkshire’s most popular places to go, and now the seaside town of Whitby has been made as one of the best places to visit in England. With its Gothic roots, fish & chips and coastal views, there’s no surprise that the North Yorkshire spot has been given such an acclaim.

Found along the Yorkshire Coast, the fishing town, which sits at the mouth of the River Esk, sees thousands flock to the charming seaside town every year. Whether to climb the 199 steps up to the Whitby Abbey, or so visit on of its many pubs.

The town offers dramatic views, and has plenty to see and do for anyone visiting. In the summer months, its golden beaches are perfect to while away the hours. The Express readers named it one of the best seaside towns to visit – and we couldn’t agree more.

They praised its “dramatic cliffside views of the ocean” and its closeness to the amazing North York Moors National Park as well as highlights it being “known for its brilliant golden beaches, winding cobblestone streets, and picturesque harbour.”

Also highlighting the towns attractions such as “Whitby Abbey, which features in Bram Stoker’s Dracula with the Dracula Experience, a museum-come-haunted house also providing plenty to keep horror lovers entertained.”

It wouldn’t be a trip to Whitby without enjoying some fish & chips, and Whitby is home to some of the best with the likes of The Magpie Cafe and Trenchers, both of which were named in the top 10 best fish & chips in the country recently.
