2. The Star Inn The Harbour

From the humble pie to Michelin-starred. Star Inn The Harbour is brought to you by Whitby-born chef Andrew Pern, whose name is synonymous with Star Inn at Harome and Star Inn The City. Bringing something back to his hometown, the Star Inn The Harbour’s menu features the catch of the day fish and meat specials along with produce from the North York Moors such as furred and feathered game.

3. Moutreys

Moutreys is a classic of the Whitby restaurants, serving up fantastic Italian dishes. All freshly prepared, you can enjoy fantastic pasta and pizza dishes made up of freshly caught seafood along with great meat dishes. Pizza is made in a traditional wood-fired oven and the menu has a great homely Italian vibe to it.

4. Ditto

The intimate 20-seat restaurant is a family-run business that serves fresh local produce in modern and inventive ways using influences from all over the world. It has classic European bistro vibes and a relaxed comfortable atmosphere.

5. Cosa Nostra

This Italian restaurant situated in a grade II listed building offers up tasty dishes made up of high-quality locally sourced produce. Spread over two floors the quaint space offers a great night out for family and friends. It’s locally run and provides the perfect backdrop for an intimate and relaxed dining experience.

6. The Magpie Cafe, Whitby Restaurants

An institution in Whitby, not only does The Magpie Cafe serve up tasty fish & chips, but it also offers some fantastic dishes and wines as well. You can enjoy mussels, and Magpie’s fish pie, and you can also create your own grilled seafood and meat platter.

7. Harry’s Lounge Bar & Brasserie

Opening back in 2008 it’s one of the many Whitby restaurants that are well-established eateries. Harry’s Lounge has fabulous panoramic views of the Whitby Harbour. They offer daily specials along with the fresh catch of the day seafood from local fishing boats and meat supplied by local butchers – freshly prepared for you by their in-house chefs.

11. Trenchers, Whitby Restaurants

Voted on TripAdvisor as the number one chippy and one of the best Whitby restaurants, it can be found right on the Harbour Front and has some fantastic views to take in while scranning a chippy tea. The restaurant offers laid-back decor with buttoned leather seating, as well as a takeaway option for those looking to roam around.
