The ilivehere website does an annual vote for the worst place to live in the UK each year, but this year they’ve done things a little different searching for the top 20 most depressing towns in Britain, as voted for by you, the public. And, the top 20 for this year doesn’t include any of Yorkshire’s own, which is a great sign for Yorkshire.
Writing about their new vote, the ilivehere site said it “wanted to highlight those towns that sap the residents will to live.” In this year’s poll it said it may be said to be grim up north, “but given the results of this poll, it’s dull AF down south, in particular, in Devon.”
Yorkshire does get a slight tongue in cheek mention with the website writing: “The Cleckhuddersfax golden triangle of Yorkshire grim, doesn’t even get a look in.”
Just under 200 places were put up for nomination in total, There places where then voted on by the public. Check out the full list available on the website here.
Last year’s top 10 worst places to live in the UK featured Bradford in 10th place and was the only Yorkshire nomination in the list, which is a real positive as less and less places in Yorkshire seemed have featured in the tongue in cheek list each year. We can revel in the fact that no Yorkshire towns were featured in the list and enjoy the southern entires featured.
