Yorkshire’s cities are home to some of the most iconic grafitti pieces. So, it’s on surprise that Leeds and Sheffield have featured amongst some of the country’s best to be named in the top ten for cities for street art in the UK. Especially Sheffield, which is a real hub for creative industries and DIY approach to life.

Betway hunted down the countries best street art cities, sifting through data to determine the best spots for the incredibly artistic form of expression From vibrant paintings to intriguing murals. We aren’t talking about tagging a wall. We are talking about the kind that inspires you on the way to work – and makes you go out of your way to take a snap for the gram.

Take Peter McKay’s piece The Snog in Sheffield on the side of the iconic pub, Fagan’s – which is most likely the most famous piece in Yorkshire. London took the top spot for the best city for street art in the UK with over 440 street art locations, whilst Sheffield was named the best Yorkshire city coming in fifth place overall with 154 street art locations. Leeds, just snuck into the top 10 coming in 10th place with just 43. The art form is becoming more and more popular with cities commissioning pieces to help brighten the streets and help tell the story of the area.

Taking the second spot was Bristol with 214, then Belfast coming in third with 340. Manchester was the only northern city to beat Sheffield.
