Two Yorkshire Spots Named In The 8 Best Places To Live In The UK

It’s not surprise when God’s Own Country features in lists like this. It’s a beautiful and varied part of the world, which we get to call home.

We’ve always known how amazing Yorkshire is with its picturesque villages, coastal walks, and beautiful countryside. And, some of Yorkshire’s towns have featured in this year’s list showcase some of its best features including one spa town known for a certain famous tea room.

The top spots were named by lifestyle website Muddy Stilletos who revealed the absolute best places to be a local in 2024. And, two Yorkshire spots managed to make the top 8 lineup, which has some fabulous places listed.

Along with spots down south, the historic market town of Helmsley made the list. Located in North Yorkshire it was chosen due to its old-worldy charm and dramatic countryside that surrounds it. It’s made up of fantastic 18th-century cottages and a range of indie shops to explore.

It was also noted that its medieval castle and array of surrounding Michelin-starred restaurants as erason why people would want to move to the sleep North Yorkshire town. Having visited, we can attest to it being a beautiful spot to visit. It has a beautiful stream meandering through the centre, which is a popular spot of budding photographers.

Completing the list is the posh spot of Harrogate. The Yorkshire spa town has excellent shops, transport links and restaurants. Not to mention that it is home to the famous Betty’s Tea Room, made famous for its fat rascals and afternoon tea experience.
