This Yorkshire Beach Named In UK’s Loveliest Winter Beach Walks

Ahh, winter. A time when you feel like curling up under a blanket with the heating on and binging a Netflix series waiting for sun, sea and beer gardens weather. You can also get a jacket on and head to the coast regardless. Yes, the coast has some fantastic beer gardens to visit, but it also has some fantastic beach walks that are great this time of year.

And, one such beach walk in North Yorkshire has been highlighted as top three in the UK by The Times especially due to its tea and cakes as a treat before or after your walk. This is according to Chief travel writer Chris Haslam.

With its stunning cliff paths that makeup part of the Cleveland Way and also the wonderful stretches of beaches and natural bays. It’s a great place to explore all year round. Chris highlights Smugglers Alehouse for a beer afterwards and we’d add to that the wonderful The Bay Hotel and the Laurel Inn. The former offers stunning views over the bay and the latter a cosy watering hole that transports you back in time.

Chris writes that: “this four-mile circular walk is dictated by where you can get the best tea and cake: the café at the Boggle Hole YHA.” Boggle Hole is a fantastic spot with stunning views out to see and real feeling of isolation.

The four-mile walk that made third place in The Times’ list takes you along the Cinder Track along the beach and up over the cliffs.
