You Can Now Visit A Beach In The Heart Of The City of York This Summer

If you don’t fancy travelling miles and miles to the beach this summer but want to feel the sand between your toes, we’ve got the attraction for you. Opening this week, YO1 Beach Club in York along the River Ouse is the perfect place to take your kids for a miniature day at the beach this summer.

In the heart of the cobbled streets of York, you can enjoy an ice cream and a nice drink in a deckchair in the sand. Families will be flocking down to the beach next to the River Ouse this summer – which, we might add, is also free to enter.

YO1 Beach Club York

The YO1 Beach Club in York is situated in the Tower Gardens, where the kids can bring their bucket and spade and build some sandcastles in the sand this summer. They can also enjoy climbing aboard the bright yellow boat and play pirates, which sounds so much fun.

Once the kids have worked up an appetite, you can visit their indoor and outdoor eating areas and get tucked into breakfast, burger and chips, fish & chips or pizza – which are all reasonably priced and most kids favourite to get tucked into. We think we’ll be getting tucked in the traditional beach food fish & chips!

They also do some amazing brightly coloured slushies that all kids will enjoy as much of the sand this summer!

The beach club is run by Coopers Marques and is open from 9:30 until 18:00 each day. We think it is such a great idea and perfect for those looking for things to do with the kids this summer. York has plenty to do this summer with the THOR’S Tipi in the city centre and other things to enjoy.
