Fancy stepping into one of the world’s most famous painters paintings? A new immersive experience in York allows you to get closer than you ever thought imaginable with the new York Van Gogh experience that takes you on a journey of one of the greatest geniuses of the last century.

Located at York St Mary’s Church just next to Jorvik Viking Centre, In Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience takes you on a journey of the artistic geniuses work. You can explore the 19th century painters work like never before via a 360 degree digital projection experience that’s wnhanced by amazing lighting and sound to pick you up a place you in the world and mind of Van Gogh.

Thanks to cutting edge virtual projection, audiences around the world have been moved by the awe-inspiring exhibition that aims to bring visitors closer to Can Gogh paintings than ever before. Working with art historians the experience explores not just his work but his studies, style and even his personal correspondence, whilst showcasing his deeply expressive paintings in a magnificent spectacle of virtual reality, music, animations, optical illusions, and 360 degree projections.

An optional 11-minute virtual reality experience takes you on a tour of Arles, the village where Van Gogh spent much of his later life, and which inspired a host of his artworks, including the stunning Starry Night on the Rhone.

With an amazing virtual reality experience at the end (additional £3 charge), you can truly immerse yourself in the village of Arles to see the places from which he drew inspiration during his most prolific period of painting. Now confirmed until the end of 2021 and included in York Pass.
