We are all sat dreaming of the sun-filled beers gardens at work right now. Whether a glass of vino, pint of ale, or something stronger is your tipple, the pursuit of the weekend jaunt to the pub has been in all our minds since we went into lockdown. Now, lockdown restrictions have been eased, we will be heading to the pub this weekend. So, the people at Big 7 Travel have listed their top 25 favourite beer gardens in the UK, and Yorkshire got a few nods in there.
Yorkshire is full to the brim of beautiful beer gardens and terraces, so we thought we’d share Big7’s favourites to get you inspired for the weekend.
The Chequers Inn, Ledsham (West Yorkshire)

Number 10 on their list, this pub can be traced back to the 14th Century. Chequers Inn is one of Yorkshire’s oldest pubs, which hasn’t lost any of its Olde English charm. Their walled beer garden has barrels filled with beautiful coloured flowers and nice rattan furniture. If you’re looking for some great local brewed ales and traditional pub grub, this is your place.
The Original Oak, Leeds (West Yorkshire)

At number 11 was The Original Oak. A part of the famous Otley Run, The Royal Oak has a gigantic beer garden that always had a great buzz. If you’re looking for a great spot to watch live sport, they have a big screen in the beer garden that covers most major sporting events. It’s set in the popular student area of Headingley.
The Stables, Whitby (North Yorkshire)

Set in the seaside town of Whitby, The Stables is in at number 12. Famous for its fish & chips, Whitby is a popular place for tourists, and this beer garden offers some fantastic views of the Esk Valley. It’s just two miles from the coast, so a perfect stop if you’re out for the day with the kids at Whitby or the North York Moors.
The Lister Arms, Malham (North Yorkshire)

Set just a small jaunt downhill from the famous Malham Cove, the Lister Arms is in at number 18 and is the last Yorkshire entry in their list. It serves up some amazing pub grub and has a range of beers to try. You couldn’t get a more idyllic spot to stop and enjoy some sun-soaked fun than this quaint pub.
