It’s official Yorkshire is going to be hot property for tourists this summer. After the news that all restrictions will be lifted come June 21st, people are looking to get out there and enjoy summer 2021 and make up for months spent in lockdown! Two of Yorkshire’s National Parks, The Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, made the top 25 UK staycation bucket list 2021 in a survey done by Big 7 Travel.

The huge travel company asked their 1.5m follower base as well as their team of experts where they were looking forward to visiting during 2021 as well as their sister website EnjoyTravel.com. to vote for the top 10 places. and our two wonderful National Parks beat out some stiff competition to become some of the most popular places that people are looking forward to visiting post-lockdown.
It appears that people are shifting more towards the countryside visits over city breaks which can be seen by London coming in 15th place in the list and Cornwall topping the list with our good old Yorkshire Dales sat comfortably in 3rd. The benefits of visiting our amazing National Parks instead of jetting off to a beach somewhere this year is obvious. They’re full of unkempt beauty and countless historical and cultural cities to explore, there’s no need to bring the passport

Big 7 Travel said they “asked (their) readers what they think the best UK staycation destinations are so that (they) could compile a list of swoon-worthy getaway spots perfect for families, couples or solo travellers.”
The Yorkshiredale was just pimped to the post by Cornwall and its neighbour the Lake District. So it’s on the podium with some high-quality company. Talking about the Yorkshire Dales, the travel site notes its “Breathtaking scenery complete with the untouched countryside and vibrant cultural heritage”. As well as that we can’t help but add its beautiful waterfalls and awe-inspiring walks you can get involved with. If you thinking of heading over that way check out our great list of cosy cottages here.

Just one place behind the capital London, in 16th, was the North York Moors which the travel site said has “Unbelievably pretty villages, storied abbeys, wonderful museums and fabulous food are just a few things you’ll find in the North Yorkshire Moors.” It has some amazing waterfall walks to get stuck into as well as some beautiful coastline to enjoy as well.
