Summer so far as been a washout, with rain dictating most days. But, things are about to change this week as temperatures about to soar. From today, the county can expect highs of 27C with more sun – yes, sun – to come as the week progresses.
It looks like we can finally head to some of Yorkshire’s beaches as clear skies and sunny spells are set to takeover. No more grey clouds in the sky, instead a chance to get the BBQ dusted of, wash down the patio and enjoy a beer in the sunshine. What a nice bit of news for a Monday.
The Met Office has said: “Dry with any early mist soon clearing. Some cloud building by the afternoon. Warm or very warm, particularly in the south of the region. Maximum temperature 27C.” This looks set to continue for the first half of the week.
It continues: “Conditions look to turn increasingly warm, or even hot, in central, southern and eastern areas early next week and it is possible some places may reach heatwave criteria. It’s uncertain how long this warmer weather will last though, with a possible breakdown from mid-week.”
It looks like business as usual as the rain is set to return come with potential thundery weather on Thursday.
