It’s been a bank holiday like no other after being in and out of lockdowns for a year and beer gardens finally back open. Yorkshire folk were out in full force to enjoy seeing friends and family with a few beers once more. A couple of lads took it a step further at Tavassoli’s Cafe + Grill in Leeds.

Captured by the restaurant staff, the two lads braved the rain on Sunday 2nd May. They covered themselves in a blanket and soldiered on with the gyros and beer. What a sight! Only in Yorkshire.

The cafe shared a video to their Facebook page with the caption “Don’t tell me you love Gyros unless you’re as dedicated as these two legends.”

“Not even Zeus’s lightning would work on them.”

The video has since gone viral! We shared it to our Facebook page, where it has had nearly 200 shares, and it’s still going strong.

One person commented saying: “Makes you proud to come from Yorkshire we will not be defeated.”

And, another wrote: “There’s only one place in the country come downpour of rain come what are the folk of Yorkshire shall still go out and eat and enjoy a pint these Hardy folk of Yorkshire gods own county.”

Hospitality still isn’t allowed to have customers inside until 17th May, and instead of moaning these boys showed true Yorkshire grit and, with the ‘be reyt’ attitude, carried on with their meal.

We salute you, boys! Have a beer on us!

The restaurant offers an amazing bottomless gyros and booze event, which is our favourite bottomless brunch in Leeds for sure!
