Yorkshire Seaside Fish & Chips Named Cheapest In The UK

Yorkshire will always be the place to go for fish & chips. There has always been something that is just better about our chippies, whether it’s the batter, fish or the fats used to fry up those crispy chips. It turns out it might just be the price as two of Yorkshire’s seaside chippies were named the cheapest places to get a large fish and chips.

Bridlington in East Yorkshire and Filey in North Yorkshire was named as the cheapest for fish & chips. Bridlington was shown to be the best value for a day out at the seaside, with its value for money on doughnuts for £1.50 and 99 ice creams at £1.50.

The research was done by Premier Inn, who decided as people were looking for holiday destinations around the UK – they thought they’d find the best value places to visit. They did this by contacting more than 500 independent eateries and shops in over 100 of the country’s most popular seaside towns.
