A magical new Christmas market is coming to Barnsley this festive season. Brought to you from the UK’s leading specialist market operators, Market Place, which also runs Leeds Christmas Market, is blending festive tradition with an exciting economic opportunity for local traders and the wider community.
Set to take place from the 29th November to 21st December 2025, The Glass Works Square in the heart of Barnsley will transform into a winter wonderland, bringing all the festive cheer, twinkling lights and spirit of Christmas with it.
European-style Christmas markets are having their moment with wooden chalets, festive music and the mouth-watering smells of sizzling bratwurst filling the air, creating an atmosphere that families, friends and visitors of all ages can’t get enough of.
Barnsley city centre will be home to 30 beautifully decorated wooden chalets, each showcasing hand-selected, local and international traders. You can expect everything, the unique artisan gifts and one-of-a-kind decorations to indulgent festive treats and mouth-watering street food favourites.
