Seems that you can take the lad out of Yorkshire, but you can’t take the Yorkshire out the lad as ex-One Direction star, Zayn Malik reveals what he misses most while living in the US – and it’s a big ol’ kebab from his favourite take away back home. Course it is!
Whilst speaking to Jordan North and Sian Welby on Capital Radio, the 31-year-old singer, who has a new solo album coming out son, revealed that his biggest craving is his favourite kebab shop when he’s back home in Bradford.
Currently living on a farm in Pennsylvania, Malik revealed his guilty pleasure when Sian asked: “You know when you get to come back to the UK, is there something that you really crave from back home food wise?”
To which Zayn quickly replied: “I love a Doner Kebab!” He continued saying he favourite thing to do when he gets home is to “Get a Doner when I come home, can’t get a decent one out here.”

If you were wondering how he likes his kebabs, he said he’ll take both garlic mayo and chilli sauce with his kebab. Zayn also adeed: ‘Oh both mate! Bit of Chutney too, mint sauce…’ But the all important answer – where does he get his kebabs from? Zayn said: “Leeds Road Fisheries also like a kebab shop, sells Pizza and stuff, we always go there.”
Zayn will be able to fill his boots when he gets back home, which won’t be long as he is the Ambassador for Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture. Throughout the year Zayn – and other people of Bradford, will celebrate the city with citywide activations and special projects focusing on the rich diversity, culture, and youth of the city – all to be announced later this year.
