4 Yorkshire Hotels Have Been Included In The Sunday Times Top 100 List

Four Yorkshire hotels have been included in The Sunday Times Top 100 hotels to stay in the UK. And, they’re absolutely stunning. From quaint 18th-century pub that has been renovated to grand and magnificent builds that make you feel like royalty throughout.

Alice Hawthorn, Nun Monkton

Speaking about the 18th Century village pub in Nun Monkton they praised the “polished gastropub with food as assured as its Oka-inspired interiors”. A former chef of the popular Angel at Hetton is at the helm of the kitchen at the Alice, which is half an hour from York.

The Alice has twelve beautiful new rooms and four rooms above the pub with all the character you’d expect from an 18th Century building.

Grantley Hall was one of only two hotels to receive the full 5 stars from the AA guide. It’s has won countless awards since opening before lockdown including a Michelin star for its fine-dining restaurant by Shaun Rankin.

The beautiful boutique hotel was once the Aviva headquarters. It’s a seven-storey building in the city of York that has 150 rooms and has a beautiful rooftop bar that offers views of the historic city.

Its Sora bar will be on the roof serves up Asian inspired cocktails such as their peach and lychee spritz and cherry blossom negroni. Their food menu is just as great serving up a range of cold and grilled plated. Our favourites are the sticky pork belly and the glazed beef short rib, which are out of this world.

Queens Hotel, Leeds

Newly renovated, The Queens Hotel is an art deco railway hotel with 232 rooms to offer. It had a £16 million makeover which included a Raffles-inspired restaurant with a nod towards the golden age of high society in Leeds City Centre.

The restaurant seats up to 100 people and offers private dining rooms and bar as well as flavours from all over the world in their all-day menu with dishes such as Asian spiced Duck Cottage Pie and Tempura Szechuan sea bass. Guests can also enjoy live orchestras while tucking into roast beef that is carved at the table.
