Excitement is building in Hull as the renowned chocolate brand, Hotel Chocolat, prepares to open its doors on Anlaby Retail Park on December 11th. With a unique distinction of being the only company in the United Kingdom to cultivate its own cocoa on a dedicated farm, Hotel Chocolat has become synonymous with exceptional quality and innovation in the world of chocolate.
The Hull-based venue promises a delectable experience for chocolate enthusiasts, boasting its own Velvetiser Cafe that will serve the signature Velvetised hot chocolate in an impressive array of 18 different flavors. Whether you prefer it hot, over ice, or as a Choc Shake with the option of dairy milk or plant-based alternatives, the choices are as indulgent as they are varied.
Adding a touch of personalisation, patrons can customise their hot chocolate with an assortment of toppings or discover their chocolate ‘Love Match’ based on preferred flavour profiles. From smooth pralines to patisserie-inspired delights, the options cater to diverse tastes.
The new establishment in East Yorkshire’s city seats up to 47 people and is 6,610 sq ft of pure chocolatey gooodness, offering a cozy retreat to escape and unwind while relishing in the luxury of high-quality chocolate. Beyond the tempting hot chocolate offerings, Hotel Chocolat is set to tempt patrons with a range of luxury alcohol gift sets, featuring cacao gin, chocolate and fizz hampers, and the intriguing “velvetised” chocolate cream vodka.

Commenting on the new store, Peter Harris, Hotel Chocolat’s Co-founder and Development Director, said: “We’re making retail park experiences that much more enjoyable with the opening of Hotel Chocolat at Anlaby Retail Park. Whether you’re after a relaxing drink in one of our Velvetiser Cafes or would like to explore our range of top-quality chocolate, our new concept store offers guests the opportunity to shop at a more leisurely pace.
“This latest opening is part of our plans to launch many more stores across the country in the next three to five years. Physical stores are extremely attractive and the beauty of being out-of-town is that we have good accessibility and parking so people can visit with ease.”
Acting on behalf of The Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation, owners of Anlaby Retail Park, Andrew McCormack, Senior Asset Manager at The Derwent Group, commented: “We are delighted to announce Hotel Chocolat as the latest occupier at Anlaby Retail Park. As a high-profile business that continues to go from strength to strength, they are a fantastic addition to our existing line-up of occupiers and we believe that they will have a very positive impact on the thriving Park, providing an exciting new concept for our customers to enjoy.”
