Bradford Named One Of The Most Desirable Places To Live In The UK

Try not to gasp too much, but according to a new study, Bradford has been named one of the ‘most desired’ places to live in the UK for 2024.

Conducting their annual study to find out where people in the UK want to live, Compare the Market has revealed that Bradford has found itself to be a rather coveted area – with tens of thousands searching Google every month with moving-related terms such as ‘move to Bradford’ and ‘where to live in Bradford’.

While it didn’t quite reach the top heights of London, which landed the most ‘desired’ spot, it did make the top ten, ranking seventh overall on the list and even beating current UK hotspot, Manchester.

According to the data, London received a whopping 36,880 searches per month for moving-related queries, while Bradford received a surprising 18,010.

While Bradford does often get a lot of stick, the upcoming City of Culture does (and will continue to) have a lot to offer both residents and visitors, and is home to some of the most beautiful destinations in Yorkshire – including Haworth and Saltaire.

Bradford isn’t the only Yorkshire city to benefit from the City of Culture designation, which Hull also won back in 2017. Since then, the city has become a hotspot for fantastic independents – particularly in the foodie scene – and has a fantastic arts and theatre scene to boot.
