Secret beach? “Well, bloody well keep it that way,” we hear you cry. But, how can we keep a beautiful space like this quiet. A great stretch of beach offers amazing views and a serene spot to enjoy some me-time. Settled in between Hartlepool and Whitby Cattersty Sands is a long beach with some great views.

The beach is a great place for a cheap holiday, all you need is a few sandwiches and some pop and the kids will be happy for the day paddling in the sea, building sandcastles, rock pooling and generally mucking around. Cattersty Sands tranquil setting is the perfect backdrop to your day out. Whether you just want to visit for a quiet wander or if you want somewhere to let the kids loose on.
Adjacent to the famous Cleveland Way walking route, the beach is near the small sleep village of Skinningrove which is on the northern border of North Yorkshire. Further on from it is the better-known Staithes, best reached by car Cattersty Sands is well worth a visit for the day and is a really lovely beach.
Wander up top and sit on the grassy knoll of Casterty Cliff, and take in the great tranquil seaviews and golden sands. While the wind whips at your hair and makes you feel alive again after what feels like a lifetime in lockdown.

The best thing about the beach compared to the more popular seaside resorts is that there are no arcades, ice cream shops, toy shops or anything else where kids are going to be asking for something. It’s ideal. So, if you’re looking for a quiet day out we highly recommend you have a wander up and check it out for yourself.
