Yes, just what we needed in this seventh week of lockdown! Some good ol’ Yorkshire humour to carry us through the next few weeks whilst we stay safe and out of harms way from the COVID-19 pandemic. Now twenty years old this film has aged very well. It still holds all the Yorkshire charm and nostalgia from when it was first released.

Parents, this is a great little family treat and if your kids haven’t seen it they are sure to enjoy the loveable and hilarious characters as they hatch a plan to escape! If you haven’t seen it, think Great Escape but with chickens. Main characters Rocky the rooster and Ginger the hen try to lead their fellow chickens in an escape attempt. They hatch an ingenious plan to fly the nest with help of the ensemble cast.
The film grossed over $224 million, becoming the highest-grossing stop motion animated film in history. With Mel Gibson playing the lead and Harry Potter’s Peter Pettigrew making an appearance it is well worth a watch. Directed by the creators of Wallace & Gromit, and a sequel currently in development it is a great time to give this Yorkshire classic another go. Click here to watch now.
