Classic FM Set To Play Calming Music For Pets Stressed By Fireworks

It’s that time of year again—a season that, for some, is an exciting period full of fireworks lighting up the skies, and for others, a worrying one due to frightened four-legged friends. Classic FM has announced that it will be playing calming music to help soothe anxious pets during fireworks season.

Hosted by Charlotte Hawkins and then Dan Walker on Bonfire Night, Classic FM aims to play tunes that will calm your pets over the period. The RSPCA has revealed that 76% of animal owners report their pets are distressed during fireworks season.

They say that playing relaxing music is the most common way to calm or prepare animals, with animal centres and kennels nationwide using classical music to help decrease stress levels. That’s why, now in its seventh year, Classic FM is teaming up with the RSPCA for two Pet Classics programmes packed with the most soothing and comforting classical music.

So, spare a thought for pets while you celebrate Bonfire Night. Fireworks can be beautiful and great fun, but not so much for pets who are frightened by loud noises, flashing lights, and the unpleasant smells of spent fireworks.

The music selected for the show is handpicked to calm and settle anxious pets. The first show, hosted by Charlotte Hawkins, will be on 2nd November, and Dan Walker will present Bonfire Night on Sunday, 5th November.

Both shows will be on from 5 pm to 9 pm to coincide with firework displays. The presenters will also read personal dedications to pets on the night.

So, if you’d like to keep your pets calm, tune in to Classic FM’s Pet Classics from 5 pm to 9 pm.
