Coldplay are coming to Hull. That’s right. The band has announced it will be performing two concerts in Hull, East Yorkshire, before heading to Wembley for six shows. The band will play two shows at Craven Park on the 18th and 19th of August next year.
It’s said that Hull and London will be the only UK and European cities where Coldplay will perform next summer. The announcement is a great boost to Hull, which is bringing bigger and bigger acts to the port city each year.
Half of the tickets for their Hull shows – the band’s first performance in the city – will be reserved for local fans with HU, YO, DN and LN postcodes – and will be available via Ticketmaster on Thursday 26th September at 6pm.
A pre-sale for tickets will go live on Thursday with general sales starting at 9am on Friday 27th September. The band are known for their interactive shows, so this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the band on our very own doorstep.
Coldplay is also giving 10% of the revenue from both the Hull and Wembley shows to the Music Venue Trust, a charity supporting grassroots music venues and artists in the UK. Coldplay release their 10th album Moon Music this October.
Coldplay also announced that 10& (MVT) of the revenue from both the Hull and Wembley shows will be donated to the Music Venue Trust, a charity supporting grassroots music venues and artists in the UK.
MVT CEO Mark Davyd said: “Coldplay are the perfect example of a UK band who came through the grassroots circuit on their way to worldwide stadium-filling success. It’s fantastic to see them celebrating their own pathway to Wembley by giving back to the grassroots music venues that supported them and recognising the artists and promoters that are struggling more than ever to build their own careers.”
