A young lad from Silloth appeared on a popular US show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform a cover of US heavy metal band Slipknot’s ‘Sulfur’.
Caleb Hayes, aged 7, is a drumming prodigy who had already caught the attention of the metal band in 2020 and they were mightly impressed.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show producers flew Kaleb over to play one of the band’s songs on the daytime talk show.
Introducing him on her show, Ellen said “My next guest is the cutest little drummer I have ever seen. All the way from Cumbria, England, please welcome seven-year-old Caleb Hayes.”
Kaleb was dressed for the occasion, sporting a mohawk, leather jacket and a rockstar attitude.
After performing, the cute 7-year-old Cumbrian sat down for a chat with the world-famous Ellen, who found the Northern lad very entertaining.
Caleb said that he had started drumming at the age of just two, following in his father’s footsteps and named Slipknot as his favourite band.
Weinberg, the drummer of Slipknot, took to social media to praise the young talent on Instagram writing: “Once again, you’ve made all your big brothers in Slipknot proud,” he said.
“What a way to own the moment, and deliver a fantastic performance!
“So stoked to see you rip it up on The Ellen Show and that you’re heading home with a new snare. Play it hard and often, my friend I know you will!”
