Helen Skelton & Dan Walker Team Up To Explore Pennine Way For New Channel 5 Travel Show

It’s been announced that Helen Skelton and Dan Walker are set to appear in a new Channel 5 series that will see the explore Britain’s first lon-distance trail, the Pennine Way.

The four-part series Dan & Helen’s Pennine Adventure will see the pair meet poeple that live and work along the trail and learn more about the secrets and hidden gems of the area.

By immersing themselves in the rural landscape they will explore the iconic towns, villages and other areas in the countryside whhilst tkaing on physical challenges.

A different leg of the journey will make up each episode of Dan and Helen’s journey where they will use different forms of transport and take part in new activities.

Dan Skelton took to Twitter to announce writing: “lookgin forward to working with @Helenskelton on this…” posting an image that described the new show.

The Pennine Way is a 268-mile walk that runs from the boarders of the Peak District, through Yorkshire and up to the Scottish Borders.

The Poet Laurete and Yorkshireman Siman Armitage took on the Pennine Way in the opposite direction taking him home to Marsden in West Yorkshire like some sort of pilgrimage and documented his jounrye in travel book Walking Home.

Discussing the new show Dan Walker said: “I am really looking forward to making this series with Helen. I can’t wait to get out there and explore the Pennines.

“It will be nice to escape the studio for a while and join a good friend to discover a beautiful slice of the UK and meet some amazing people along the way. They promised me there would be food to taste too!”

Helen Skelton is currently on our screens with the new season of Springtime on the Farm, which sees the gang return to Cannon Hal Farm near Barnsley to follow life on the far during its busiest time of year.
