Following in the footsteps of Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, Emmerdale actor come, amateur farmer, Kelvin Fletcher is getting stuck into the world of warming and is documenting it with his brand new BBC documentary Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure which promises some icky sights.

He left the popular UK soap back in 2016 after marrying his childhood sweetheart and having two children Marnie and Milo, and he’s bought a 120-acre 18th-century farm in the Peak District.

Kelvin previously won Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 with Oti Mabuse and is now trying his hand at something new. After opening up about his struggles to find acting work post-Emmerdale, Derbyshire’s answer to the Amanda Owen the Yorkshire Shepherdess, Kelvin will see if he’s got what it takes in his new life with his wife Liz, and their two children Marnie and Milo.

Much Like Yorkshireman Clarkson and his show ‘Clarkson’s Farm’, Kelvin has zero farming experience, so viewers will follow him as he throws himself in at the deep end and attempts to turn a profit on his farm.

Starting next week on Monday 17th January, the new BBC One series will follow 37-year-old Kelvin and his family will be adapting to their new country lifestyle in front of the British audience. Stress levels will be high – that’s for sure.

Announcing the series, Kelvin wrote: “If you’ve been sat there wondering what these random farming and outdoor pictures are all about well now you know!

“We have literally jumped in at the deep end and bought a farm!”

He went on to say: “A reluctant Wife, two crazy kids and a Husband with knowledge of farming you could write on the back of a stamp! What could possibly go wrong?!”

The BBC said that Kelvin will “get to grips with the notoriously tough world of livestock markets, sheep wrangling and the maintenance of a huge estate with endless outbuildings and an unmanageable cast of animals.”

The actor said: “This is without doubt the biggest challenge I’ve ever taken on. I’m really excited to share the unforgettable first steps into our new life of farming and adventures.”

Next-door farmer Gilly will be shelling out his no-nonsense expert advice on Kelvin’s livestock as he gets himself his very own flock of sheep. Reality hits home after the sight of a sheep’s maggot-infested foot is too much for Kelvin to bear.

Kelvin’s stomach turn’s at the sight of the rot and, Gilly jibes him naming him a ‘blinking wuss’. Fans of Kelvin can expect great fun and entertainment as we see Emmerdale star take on the challenge of a lifetime.
