Upmarket Bombay-inspired cuisine in the form of Dishoom is coming to Leeds city centre. Taking over the former Flannels unit, the acclaimed Indian restaurant will be a welcome addition to the Leeds restaurant scene and a major spot in Yorkshire’s cosmopolitan city. We love a curry here at The Yorkshireman, and always heard great things about the Manchester venue.
The award-winning Indian restaurant group will open in a prime position between Victoria Gate and Victoria Quarter on Vicar Lane. Inspired by the Irani cafes of 1960s Bombay, which would be a meeting place for people from all walks of life.

Replicating the early and mid-20th century Bombay aesthetic, the venue will feature the likes of family portraits, marble tables, and chequerboard-tiled flooring. It’s a great addition to the Leeds food scene, which increasingly displays the demand for high-quality experience-led dining in the city.
Dishoom is famous for its all-day dining approach and curries such as the Ruby Murray, and its Indian twist on classic breakfast such as their bacon naan roll and sausage naan rolls.

Charles Newman, Associate Director, Estates at TCS, commented: “We are thrilled at the opportunity to bring Dishoom to Leeds and be able to provide such an iconic space in the heart of the city. Dishoom is a brand that has redefined dining experiences in the UK, and their decision to come to Leeds – and specifically to this key location, is a strong vote of confidence in the city’s continued growth as a regional destination for food, retail and culture.”

They are currently applying for licensing to sell alcohol between 8am and 12am from Monday to Sunday. There is no opening date for the Leeds city centre, Dishoom, but we are very excited to visit.
