‘Harry Potter’ TV Series Confirmed With Brand New Cast

Harry Potter has been a part of British culture for the past two decades and Warner Bros. has yet to capture the magic of the original series with Fantastic Beasts missing the mark.

After rumours swirled it has now been confirmed that a TV series is in the works. The news comes as HBO Max and Discovery+ streaming services announced they’re merging into Max.

As you’ve probably guessed, the new series will have a completely new cast, which means we will be seeing the dynamic trio played by three brand-new actors.

Harry Potter Max Original Series Official Announcement was made via HBO YouTube and you can watch below:

Warner Bros. Discovery said they expect their Harry Potter series to be a series that will last for a decade, LADBible reports. So it’s a big undertaking for any young actor.

HBO and Max content CEO Casey Bloys has said: “We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way.

“Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World.”

“In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and J.K. Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years.”

The series which will be in association with Brontë Film and TV, and Warner Bros. Television will be executive produced by J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts.

Sources have suggested that talks between Warner Bros. Discovery and Rowling remain in the early stages with the studio looking to house the series under its HBO Max banner but an HBO Max spokesperson has declined to comment.

The films which were adapted from 2001 to 2011 are still as popular as ever, which has led to some people questioning the decision.

J.K. Rowling has created a universe so dense that you could delve into many storylines including the wizarding war that predated the original series in which we saw the first uprising of Voldemort.

It’s not surprising that a new TV series is in the works with over 600M copies of the books sold worldwide, theme parks, global stage plays, and a billion-pound feature franchise.

There was a meme shared, which went viral of Adam Driver as a young Severus Snape showing that there is a taste for early stories to be showcased.

We can’t wait to see what the future entails for the wizarding world – at least we will always have the original series and books that will never get old.
