There’s A ‘Kitty Cafe’ In Leeds Where You Can Play With Cats & Eat Cake

If you think this is going to be just your average, run-of-the-mill cafe, you’d be very, very wrong. Found in Leeds city centre, Kitty Cafe is exactly what it says on the tin: a cafe filled to the brim with adorable kitties.

Roaming freely throughout the cosy venue where humans can admire the fluffy, majestic creatures, Kitty Cafe promises “cute cats, good food, happy people”, alongside plenty of space to play with the cats while enjoying a warming brew.

Designed with felines in mind, the space consists of tons of incredible climbing structures for the cats to enjoy, alongside plenty of toys, comfy spots for the cats to curl up in when they’re tired of socialising, and, of course, comfy sofas and armchairs for the human guests to snuggle up in.

A place where animals well and truly come first, Kitty Cafe is a cat rescue centre first and foremost – providing a safe and loving home for otherwise homeless kitties to enjoy with their feline friends. In addition to caring for the cats that live at the cafe, Kitty Cafe also works hard to rehome other people’s cats, too, offering a free rehoming service via their website.

In the cafe, guests can expect the usual culprits – jacket potatoes, paninis and afternoon tea – alongside tasty treats such as pizza, loaded nachos and even Mexican quesadillas. Just make sure the kitties don’t get hold of any, of course!

For the sweet tooths among us, expect a huge menu of delicious cakes, with crowdpleasers such as red velvet, zesty lemon and even black forest cheesecake up for grabs during your visit. Each decadent cake is as tasty as the next, with whipped cream and marshmallows also available for those who want to up the sugar factor.

To wash it all down, guests can choose from a huge drinks menu, packed with incredible creations such as Kitty Mocktails (perfect for kids!), thick milkshakes, tons of tea varieties and even flavoured coffees – with unique flavours such as popcorn, butterscotch, honeycomb and hazelnut up for grabs.

The hot chocolate menu is just as divine, too, with flavours such as mint and dark chocolate, black forest, honeycomb, salted caramel and Belgian chocolate available to indulge in.

Kitty Cafe can be found at 8-9 Kirkgate, Leeds LS1 6BZ, and is open from 10am-6pm daily.
