Some of my earliest memories involve skipping down the beach in Skipsea, hunting for a slope in the cliffs to climb up on the search for ice cream. It was always a highly rewarding adventure, resulting in a cone in my hand of my favourite ice cream flavour: mint chocolate chip.
In fact, summers weren’t quite the same without it in our household, and to this day I often crave a nostalgic visit to that beach-side parlour that fulfilled my sweet tooth on so many occasions. And that beach-side parlour is Mr Moo’s.

Located within its very own farm (cows and all!) on a cliff top in the seaside village of Skipsea, Mr Moo’s has long reigned King of ice cream in East Yorkshire, becoming so popular, you’ll find tubs of it in many a local shop across the county.
It’s the epitome of Yorkshire born, Yorkshire bred, milking their own cows from a nearby farm, before turning it into mouthwatering ice cream at their own farm – Southfield House – with over 30 flavours now available after almost 20 years of perfecting their craft.

Starting life in 2003, the farm has gone from strength to strength over the years, not only finding themselves become a dessert hot spot for locals and tourists alike, but also expanding their cafe offering to include pastries, cakes, pies, bagels and more – becoming much more of a dining destination for its fans.
Not only that, but Mr Moo’s has also found themselves rapidly expanding across the entire region as a wholesale supplier, too, stocking businesses in Hull, Leeds, Runswick Bay and everywhere in between.

Providing customers with both a summery outdoor dining space and a bright an airy indoor cafe, Mr Moo’s offers not only a fantastic place to stop for an ice cream after a stroll down the beach with family, but also a quiet place to relax with a spot of lunch before exploring the Yorkshire coast.
Serving a little something to suit everyone’s sugar craving, the parlour offers up a huge array of flavours – including banoffee, salted caramel, Irish cream, marzipan, Oreo vanilla and even chocolate orange – as well as drool-worthy desserts including pancakes, waffles, sundaes and cookie/ice cream stacks.

Located on Southfield House Farm, Skipsea, ice cream lovers can pop on over to the parlour daily between 10am and 5pm, or find a stockist nearby to fill up the freezer with.
