This New Orleans-Inspired Speakeasy & Cocktail Bar In Leeds Is A Must-Visit

Smokestack is one of our favourite bars in Leeds city centre. The bar has New Orleans vibes with its extraodinary music offering played over two floors. Funk, soul, blues, jazz and reggae create a buzz in the Lower Briggate streets. From the moment you climb the stairs, it has speakeasy vibes and transforms you back in time. The stylish and vibrant bar Smokestack in Leeds city centre is a must-visit on any night out.

The small space has live bands play, enhancing the experience with a more intimate experience. It plays to the bars speakeasy vibes and gives the place a really unique atmosphere. On a night, there is always an electric and exciting atmosphere – in this speakeasy-style bar.

Let loose in The Roost under the glow of the neon sign. It’s been a while since we’ve been able to hit the dancefloor and we feel ready to boogie to some great tunes with great people. Many a time have we sweated and danced our night away to some funk, soul and jazz tunes at Smokestack, Leeds.

The walls of the bar ar adorned with realics of the past wether that be a cool old-fashioned ad or iconcs from the past. You can chill in one of their booths and take in the past whilst enjoying the present moment.

Many of the bar’s drinks play on the speakeasy aesthetic and are served in champagne and martini glasses as well as the classic tumblers for the whiskey numbers.

Our favourite cocktail is a classic Old Fashioned, but you should also try the Caribbean twist on an Old Fashioned, try the Golden Fashioned, made using El Dorado 8yr Rum, Briottett Fig Liqueur, Regan’s Orange Bitters, sugar cane syrup and banana dust. Another favourite is ‘The Opera’, which is a blend of Portobello Road gin, lemon, blueberries & basil.

Make sure you make it a point of interest on your night out!
