The popular luxury spa hotel Saltmoore, which opened in 2024, is nestled in the quaint village of Sandsend and is expanding its offering with an exciting new addition: the Pizzeria at The Beach House. This family-friendly Italian restaurant will be open seven days a week during the high season, welcoming both hotel guests and local residents, and joining the existing dining destinations, The Brasserie at Saltmoore and The Wellness Café.

Saltmoore occupies the former 85-acre Raithwaite Sandsend estate, which was redeveloped last year into two distinct hotels: Saltmoore House and The Beach House, offering a combined total of 78 rooms and suites.
With its breezy décor of crisp whites and ocean blues, picnic bench seating, and wicker lighting, the pizzeria is the perfect spot to unwind and indulge this summer. Created by Head Chef Adam Maddock, in collaboration with Michelin-starred Chef Consultant Tommy Banks, the menu showcases slow-fermented sourdough pizzas made with regeneratively grown Wildfarmed flour.

Expect seasonal toppings featuring produce picked fresh from the on-site garden and meats sourced locally from Lishman’s of Ilkley, all paired with craft ales and lagers from Turning Point Brewery, along with classic Italian cocktails such as Aperol spritz. The menu also caters to vegan and gluten-free diets, with exciting limited-time specials like stone-baked lobster with herb butter.

Speaking about the new venture, Adam Maddock said: “The pizzeria is all about simplicity done well. We’ve focused on flavour, texture, and quality ingredients, no shortcuts, just proper, satisfying pizza that brings people together.”
