One of Yorkshire’s most impressive stately homes, Wentworth Woodhouse, is set to get the RHS treatment, with its own RHS Flower Show arriving for the first time this summer. With the aim of bringing the magic of gardening to new audiences, the annual RHS calendar has seen a major shake-up, with the Tatton Park flower show reducing to every three years, a new show coming to Sandringham in 2026, and Hampton Court Palace becoming a biennial event.
Known for its stunning grounds and gardens, Rotherham’s Wentworth Woodhouse has long been a source of inspiration for Yorkshire gardening lovers, even winning Historic Houses’ Garden of the Year in 2022. Now, it’ll be put centre stage for the new RHS Flower Show, where guests can awe at innovative flower displays, enjoy a bit of shopping and learn more about gardening.

The show, which previously took place at Tatton Park in Cheshire, marks South Yorkshire‘s first RHS Flower Show and will span both the gardens and the interior of Wentworth Woodhouse. Think a ballroom adorned in flowers, striking installations and even workshops.
It’s expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors and spotlight how South Yorkshire has become a buzzing part of beautiful Yorkshire.

RHS Director General Clare Matterson says: “Our RHS Shows are without doubt the best horticultural events in the world, however we must not and should not, stand still.
“We owe it to the horticultural world, our invaluable RHS members, our visitors and our nation of gardeners to look at how and what we can do to create new content, work with new contributors and find ways to generate interest and inspiration both within our current much loved British events and in new locations with new shows to work with new populations and people.
“These are some of the biggest changes we’ve made to our shows in a generation and we’re delighted to be extending our reach and making the RHS more accessible and welcoming to more people. We want to inspire current and new audiences with world class horticulture and provide access to the UK’s best plants people to help even more people garden and grow.”
RHS Flower Show Wentworth Woodhouse will take place between 17th and 20th July, with tickets on sale now.
