New Gaming Hall & Bar Set To Open In York City  Centre

A games bar is set to open in the heart of York city centre, having visited the venues in Sheffield and Leeds, it’s seems an exciting prospect for the city of York.

The establishment, known as Roxy Ball Room, will be housed in Stonebow House, adding to its existing locations in Leeds, Sheffield, and Manchester. Plans are in motion for a venue named Roxy Ball Room York.

Roxy Ball Rooms offer a variety of indoor games as well as a range high quality drinks and food. Some of the games featured at their other venues include pool, beer pong, mini golf, table tennis, shuffleboard, and darts.

Roxy Leisure’s previously attempt to open a bowling alley with a bar in the former Top Shop store in the Coppergate Centre, but deemed unsuitable for a Roxy Ball Room.

Roxy Ball Room York at Stonebow will mark the 20th venue in the chain. Joel Mitchell, Roxy Leisure’s commercial manager, said: “York is a vibrant city, with a diverse range of hospitality and leisure businesses.

“The licensing application is the final step for us to hopefully open a gaming hall for the city and bring our unique range of competitive socialising games.”

According to the licensing application, Roxy Ball Room York will operate from 10 am to 11 pm from Monday to Wednesday, from 10 am to midnight from Thursday to Saturday, and until 10:30 pm on Sundays.

Councillors have granted an alcohol licence to Roxy Ball Room. Roxy Leisure’s representatives CEO Matt Jones said: “The occupant that operated before us was a nightclub. Nightclubs operate differently to how we do.

“They tend to fuel people with as much alcohol as possible. I can assure you we are much better operators and have run much better management teams. We care.”
