Sheffield Location Transformed As Crews Take Over To Film New ‘Full Monty’ Series

We were all ready for a hit of nostalgia after news of the original cast of the popular film Full Monty was getting a series, and not only that but the original cast would be returning with Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy and more.

Commissioned by Disney+, the brand new series will pick up 25 years later in Steel City, promising the original gang’s “chaotic entourage of children, grandchildren, pets, and assorted hangers-on.”

Will seems that the Disney+ commissioned series is well underway with news of filming taking place all over Sheffield. Pictures were taken by Richard Newall in Gleadless, Sheffield shows that the crews and lighting rigs have taken over the area to film for the new series.

Gleadness Valley Church is the latest location for the filming of the Full Monty television series, so don’t be surprised if you’re in the area and see one of the original cast members kicking about.

The 1997 film follows a group of unemployed steel mill workers as they figure out what to do next, before landing on a new and exciting career as a troop of strippers. The iconic soundtrack features tracks such as You Sexy Thing by Hot Chocolate, You Can Leave Your Hat On by Tom Jones and Hot Stuff by Donna Summer.

We were as excited as anyone when the news that the classic cast made up of Robert Carlyle, Paul Barber, Hugo Speer, Mark Addy, Steve Huison, Wim Snape and Tom Wilkinson were reuniting for the – and as anyone else can only wonder if there is going to be another showing of skin like the film version – surely not in a church (we’d hope).
