The Makers Of ‘All Creatures Great & Small’ Has Announced New Yorkshire TV series ‘The Hardacres’

It’s fair to say that All Creatures Great and Small has swept the nation with its feel good storylines and idyllic Yorkshire scenery. And, the makers have taken note and announced a new Yorkshire TV series the Hardacres, which is set to be filmed in Ireland or all places.

Based on CL Skelton’s best selling novels, the production company Playground are set to start filming the new series which tells the story of a working class family from Yorkshire set in the 1890s.

It follows the lives of the Hardacre family as they go from a grimy fish dock to a vast country estate after an accident on the dock lands Sam and Mary Hardacre along with their children un employed and destitute.

Playground describes the family as “a bold, gutsy ensemble family drama full of heart”.

Unlike, All Creatures Great and Small, the new show The Hardacres won’t be filmed in God’s Own Country, but rather in Ireland, which is a shame as it would be great for the Yorkshire Coast to get the same attention the Dales have had with Channel 5’s incredible shows.

Keep your eyes peeled as casting for the show will begin in a few weeks.
