This Pub On A Ship In Whitby Is The Most Unique Spot For A Pint

Looking for something a little different to do this summer? What about a pint on a legendary ship? The Whitby Endeavour is a full-size replica of Captain Cook’s famous vessel and you can climb aboard and enjoy some grub and a drink in a truly unique setting overlooking Whitby harbour.

The family-friendly Whitby attraction has multiple levels and is part museum, part pub so you can have fun exploring and then enjoy some classic pub grub. The lower deck is perfect for groups whilst the middle deck feels atmospheric and is complete with a well-stocked bar. The top deck is our favourite and has to be the most unique beer garden in Whitby with stunning views over the River Esk and the iconic swing bridge.

On board, you’ll find popular beers on tap and classic British dishes, such as fish and chips, all served in a setting filled with nautical displays and maritime history. Guests are encouraged to explore the ship and even step into the recreated captain’s quarters, laid out as they might have been in the 1700s. It’s perfect for photo opportunities and brilliant fun for little explorers.

On a sunny day, there’s no better place to enjoy a cold drink than the upper deck, with its open-air seating and sea breeze. Even better, the ship is dog-friendly, so the whole family is welcome to join the adventure, which is perfect for us as we take our pooch everywhere with us.

The Whitby Endeavour pays homage to the original ship, which famously set sail from Whitby in 1768. Today, its replica sits proudly on the wharf where the River Esk flows out to the sea, offering a unique blend of local heritage, great food, and a relaxed atmosphere.
