Fish & chips are the nation’s favourite takeaway, and with good reason. Fish & chips for me are synonymous with getting out to the seaside and snacking on them whilst walking along the sea front or dad nipping to the chippy on Friday. It’s the perfect comfort food, and Yorkshire’s chippies have featured heavily in this years Good Food Awards for 2021.
11 of Yorkshire’s fish & chip restaurants are among the best in the country for the national awards. They have been listed on the winning list for the fish and chip shop category. The winners are spread around this beautiful county, showing consistency across Yorkshire chip shops
The Good Food Awards where founded in 2002, they divide restaurants and take aways into a variety of categories to be judged. A spokesperson for the awards said they are “founded upon independence and integrity and every award issued is based on a strict policy scorecard”.
Businesses can put their names forward and are then visited by judges who choose which restaurants are shortlisted by a variety of factors. Shops can also encourage customers to cast votes also.
Yorkshire has had a good year in the hospitality sector with a range of restaurants and hotels named best in the UK, and the world.
