This Picturesque North Yorkshire Market Town Announces Christmas Market Date

Christmas is approaching, and we are excited as can be. When everywhere starts to twinkle and people start feeling the Christmas cheer, that’s when we are in are element. Summer, can do one until next year as far as this reporter is concerned. And, one special market town Christmas market is not to be missed.

Knaresborough Christmas Market has been running for decades and is set to return this December, bringing more merriment and festive fun along with it. The picturesque North Yorkshire market town will transform onece more into a magical winter wonderland. Taking place over the weekend of the 5th and 6th December.

You can expect almost 80 stalls to transform the town centre’s market place into a Christmas experience to remember. you can expect seasonal goods, decorations, cards, gifts and lots of fantastic locally sourced produce. On top of that, the event, which runs between 10am and 5pmthere, will be a host a range of local dancers, brass bands and choirs to enjoy all whilst sipping on a nice mulled wine.

This will all come to creshendo with a firework display at 4:30pm on the Sunday with the viaduct and the Nidd Gorge as the backdrop.

Market chair Bill Taylor said: “Last year’s market was a huge success and we were thrilled with the feedback from both traders and visitors. The 2026 market promises to be even bigger and there has been a really high demand from traders. Whilst a lot of our visitor favourites will be returning again this year, we’ve worked hard to attract some new stallholders too, including original arts and crafts, high quality hand crafted goods, products of local and regional excellence and seasonal stalls.

“We are also keen that the market benefits the town as a whole. Members of our volunteer committee are currently liaising with other local organisations and businesses to ensure that we are promoting the full range of festive events taking place in Knaresborough over the market weekend.”
